Galería Elba Benítez

Jorge Pardo

March 1 - April 30, 2025

The Galería Elba Benítez is pleased to announce the coming exhibition of new work by Jorge Pardo, opening March 1, 2025.

The show will consist of a selection of works — paintings, drawings, sculptures, an installation of ceramic tiles and a series of small art-books associated with each of the art works on view — all made specifically for the Madrid exhibition. As in all Pardo’s multidisciplinary practice, both the individual works and the exhibition as a whole will create perceptual fields based on color, texture and the oscillation between static and kinetic aspects of the visual and haptic senses. At the same time, the show will draw on the intersection of rigid digital processes with the more malleable phenomenological immediacy of physical objects in such a way as to produce a defamiliarizing perceptual slippage that heightens and ultimately revitalizes the experience of the artwork itself.

In 2007, Pardo created the permanent installation Gran Vía 67 — a work that synthesizes art, architecture and design within an apartment in central Madrid — for the Galería Elba Benítez.

The coming show will be his first solo exhibition in the gallery space.

With the collaboration of Cerámica Suro (Mexico) & bulthaup claudio coello (Spain)
